About Us

  • The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is committed to providing the all around college experience.  Greek Life is an integral part of that college experience.  UL has 21 fraternity and sorority chapters that are recognized nationally by the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC).  Five sororities are members of the UL Panhellenic Council (ULPC).  Eight fraternities are members of the UL Interfraternity Council (ULIFC).  Four fraternities and four sororities are members of the UL National Pan-Hellenic Council (ULNPHC), these are the historically African-American groups.

The fraternities and sororities at UL promote a balance of academics, leadership, community service/philanthropy, and social events. Members of Greek organizations are expected to maintain high grades, to volunteer in the local community, and to get involved and be leaders in other campus organizations. Our Greek members donate thousands of dollars annually to local and national charities. The all-Greek grade point average is consistently higher than the non-Greek grade point average. The majority of the members and leaders in most UL student organizations are Greek. All of this and, yes, being Greek is fun, too! Membership in a Greek organization is a lifetime commitment and in return members can expect to make lasting memories and lifelong brothers and sisters.

Did you know that a UL Greek student is 45.3 % more

likely to graduate in four years than the average UL Student?
